Our history

In 2007, sisters Aarti & Kanika began a search for the perfect childcare solution when Kanika needed to return to work, leaving her six-month-old Anvay in daycare. Finding no place that truly felt like “a home away from home,” they leveraged 80 years of family expertise in education to create The Olive Kid—a nurturing Early Childhood Learning Centre designed to support new and working parents with peace of mind.

Unlike franchise models, The Olive Kid is a family and owner-operated centre, ensuring a deep-rooted commitment to early education. Our centre directors actively contribute to improving the Olive Experience, fostering an environment where children thrive and families feel supported.

We understand the needs of working parents because we are parents ourselves. That’s why we offer the ParentView Internet Monitoring System, allowing families to check in on their little ones anytime, from anywhere in the world.

The Olive Advantage

Our comprehensive early education programmes cater to each child’s unique strengths, using The Creative Curriculum from Mosaic Network, Inc. (USA), focusing on emotional, behavioural, and cognitive development from infancy to kindergarten. Through hands-on learning and a warm, home-like atmosphere, we ensure every little Olive flourishes.

Learning beyond the classroom

At The Olive Kid, we blend fun with purposeful learning, ensuring children develop socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually in a nurturing environment. Our passionate educators provide endless opportunities to grow, explore, and imagine—from building space bridges with Jodo Cubes to hosting tea parties in a village house.

Beyond academics, we focus on life skills—sharing through play, creativity through music, and hygiene through engaging activities. Cultural education is at our core, with O2 field trips to the countryside and old-age homes, and celebrations like National Cleanliness Day and Earth Day, fostering values that last a lifetime.

We create a balance between structured and free play, individual and group activities, and teacher-led and child-led experiences. Learning stays connected to the seasons—butterflies in spring, snow in winter—and extends beyond the classroom, equipping families to continue the journey at home.

At The Olive Kid, learning is inspired by Mother Nature, nurturing each child’s natural instincts rather than altering them. Our customized environment blends fun and learning, allowing children to explore and grow physically, socially, intellectually, and emotionally through age-appropriate activities.

Learning Dens

Children learn best when they follow their interests. At The Olive Kid, they have the freedom to choose their activities from specially designed Learning Dens, ensuring that play naturally leads to learning. This approach provides a structured yet flexible way to reach key developmental milestones.

Our community

Our families come from nearby neighborhoods, creating a close-knit environment and strong parent partnerships. Whether we’re close to home or near the office, our center is ideal for busy working families and easy to get to – for pick-up and drop-off or to stop in for a visit.

We use fun, research-based, multi-sensory strategies to help children develop early learning skills, including Lively Letters, Open Court for phonics and literacy, Handwriting Without Tears, and Everyday Math. We use Responsive Classroom as the basis for our social and emotional learning curriculum throughout the school.

Health & Safety

Your child’s health and safety are our top priority. Our centers have strict guidelines for cleanliness and security and we’re proud to be recognized as a health-and-wellness model for child care centers by the Partnership for a Healthier Chandigarh.
